Location
Kamen, Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia
Celestina Medovića 24 sits in Kamen, a peaceful residential neighborhood on the eastern edge of Split, nestled along the Žrnovnica River. Long before it became a quiet corner of the city, Kamen was home to a medieval hilltop fortress; the remains of the old Gradina still reward those who climb up with sweeping views over Split, the surrounding islands, and the mountains beyond. Despite its relaxed, small-town feel, guests are never far from the coast. The pebble beaches of nearby Stobreč and the mouth of the Žrnovnica River are just a short drive away, while Split's lively city beaches, including Žnjan and Trstenik, along with the historic Diocletian's Palace and Old Town, are easily reached by car or local bus. Kamen makes a wonderful base for travelers seeking a quieter, more authentic taste of Dalmatian life, surrounded by stone houses, olive groves, and mountain views, while still staying close enough to enjoy everything Split has to offer.
